The Irish online betting exchange Betdaq has announced a sponsorship agreement to become the official betting and gaming partner of the London Irish Rugby Club for the 2011/12 season.
The betting company will provide online betting services including bespoke offers, the odds on matches and innovative bets on other sporting events, with unique content created for the London-irish.com website. The two organisations are additionally teaming up to offer exclusive prizes and experiences.
Betdaq’s logo will appear on the back of the London Irish first team playing jersey for all Aviva Premiership games and Heineken Cup matches, and during home fixtures at the Madejski Stadium, Reading, the company will receive widespread in-stadia promotion with branding on touchline LED boards and throughout concourse areas as well as television adverts on the ground’s big screen.
Betdaq marketing director Shane McLaughlin said: “Our sponsorship of London Irish will help us reach new audiences in a growing market. The rugby club has a very large supporter base worldwide and there are a number of similarities between the brands, not least the Irish connection. The imminent timing of the Rugby World Cup makes this agreement particularly exciting.”
Richard Marsh, the commercial director of the rugby club added: “Through this partnership we are looking forward to working with Shane and his team on engaging with our supporter base in new and innovative ways. The strength of the club’s profile and its ambition has stood us in good stead in attracting new money to the sport in the build up to this coming season.”
