Betfair appoints CFO

Betfair Group plc has appointed Alexander Gersh as its new chief financial officer and executive director effective December 3, 2012, replacing Stephen Morana who announced his intention to step down on the appointment of a successor .

Gersh joins Betfair from the position of chief financial officer at NDS Group, a supplier of technology solutions for digital pay-TV, prior to which he served in the same role at Flag Telecom.

Morana indicated he will extend his relationship with Betfair for the next few months to ensure a smooth transition.
