Brazil’s new online lottery off to a good start

The newly launched Loterias Online in Brazil reports that initial interest among players has been high, with 341,000 player registrations and turnover of US$4.45 million.

Management reports that the website has recorded over 3.5 million visits, and that total average purchase during the first month was US$147,500 per day at an average ticket of US$12.3.

“This represents 1.41 percent of all lottery revenues in the period,” said the national manager of CAIXA Lottery Products, Rodrigo Hideki Hori.

“It exceeded the expectation, which was 3 percent of collection in the first 12 months. In the first month alone, the total average purchase was US$147,500 per day and the average ticket was US$12.3. This represents 1, 41 percent of all Lottery revenues in the period.”
