Chinese gambling ring chief loses battle to stay in the Philippines

News on 7 Aug 2015

Alleged illegal Chinese gambling ring head man Wang Bo has lost his running battle with the Philippines Bureau of Immigration to stay in Manila and was deported back to China Thursday to face charges in that country.

Our readers may recall that Ho’s well-funded attempts to stay in the Philippines resulted in the investigation of at least two senior BI officials and amid accusations of corruption in the Bureau and among politicians.

On Thursday Ho was escorted by four Chinese officials onto a morning flight to Guangzhou, BI spokesperson Elaine Tan revealed to local media. She said that a summary deportation order signed by Justice Secretary Leile de Lima had settled Ho’s fate.
