Coral to live stream World Cup preview evening

News on 2 Jun 2014

British online and land bookmaker Coral is to live stream a 2014 World Cup preview evening for the first time to thousands of online customers on Sunday June 8.

A panel chaired by Sky Sports presenter and former Chelsea star Scott Minto will provide insight into the month-long tournament to help fans make their selections.

Minto will be joined by former Liverpool and Germany midfielder Dietmar Hamann, Racing Post digital football editor Mark Langdon, and Coral’s PR director Simon Clare at the company’s headquarters in Stratford, London.

Clare is confident that the show will be a big hit following the success of Coral’s live streamed Cheltenham Festival preview in March.

He said: “The World Cup is the biggest betting event on the planet and with football turnover continuing to grow year on year we’re expecting the tournament to smash all previous records.

“Our Cheltenham preview evening was a big hit, as were the tips our panel imparted, and we were inundated with requests from customers wanting something similar on the World Cup.

“The Sunday evening before it starts feels like the perfect time to hold the event and I’m confident that our all-star expert panel will be able to point viewers in the direction of some great value bets.

“By live streaming it we will be able to deliver a high quality show packed with informed opinion, banter, and some great exclusive trading offers to the widest possible audience.”

Coral’s Cheltenham Festival preview evening attracted over 16,000 viewers when it was broadcast earlier this year ahead of the most exciting four days of Jump racing.

The World Cup show will be beamed live between 8pm and 9:30pm on June 8, and it will be hosted on the football homepage of Coral.co.uk and promoted on twitter @Coral where viewers will be invited to tweet in questions for the panel.
