The Danish Gaming Authority kept to its schedule Thursday, releasing details of licensees who will be positioned to offer Danish players their products when the market is liberalised in January 2012.

Among the 38 companies from 55 countries who have successfully applied are Nordic Odds Limited (Nordicbet); Gnuf Limited (Gnuf, Betway etc); Hillside Limited (Bet365); Ladbrokes International Limited (Ladbrokes); Reel Denmark Limited (Pokerstarts); and a slew of 888 Denmark sites.

In a press release, the Authority confirmed that January 1 2012 will see the new regulatory regime come into force, providing gambling operators the opportunity to offer betting and online casino to Danish punters.

The full list of approved licence holders appears on the Danish Gambling Authority’s website at: http://www.skat.dk/SKAT.aspx?oId=1976915&lang=US

Minister of Taxation Thor Möger Pedersen said:

“From January the [Danish] gambling market will be orderly and we will ensure that holders of a betting and online casino licence to operate on the Danish market also contribute to the society. Danes as well as the many associations supported by the gambling market can be joyful.”

He warned that any unlicensed operator offering online gambling services to Danish players would be pursued and prosecuted.

The DGA is planning a briefing session for licence holders next Tuesday, at which the Authority will present its planned activities with particular emphasis on monitoring arrangements and international collaboration with other regulators.
