Dutch authority opens public consultation on problem gambling

News on 15 Feb 2016

Dutch gambling authority Kansspelautoriteit has opened a public consultation on a proposed addiction strategy in anticipation of the implementation of remote gambling.

The existing addiction prevention policy was developed with the terrestrial sector in mind, the authority said, but after reconsidering objectives and priorities in its approach to remote gambling an expansion on the policy was found to be necessary.

Members of the public are invited to respond to the draft consultative proposal, which can be accessed at http://www.kansspelautoriteit.nl/publish/pages/3905/consultatiedocument_strategie_preventie_kansspelverslaving_2016.pdf in writing by March 11, 2016.

Once responses have been compiled and assessed, Kansspelautoriteit will publish the final problem gambling/abuse strategy on its website.
