Dutch gaming authority spotlights responsible online gambling

News on 22 Feb 2013

The Dutch Gaming Authority is holding a workshop on February 27, 2013 to gain an insight into best practices in responsible gambling online.

Invitees include licensees, inspection bodies, trade associations or those working within the field of responsible gambling.

The Kansspelauthoriteit’s quest for information precedes anticipated changes in the Dutch online gaming market where a modification to the existing Games of Chance Act prepared by the Ministry of Security and Justice to regulate online gambling in the Netherlands is currently under consideration.

During the meeting, the Authority hopes to learn best practices in:

–   the registration and identification of players, including the exclusion of minors;

–   tackling problem gambling prevention, with consideration to setting limits in time and money and to monitor player behavior and exclusions.
