Dutch regulator fines online casino subsidiary of MRG

Hot on the heels of the Euro 300,000 fine imposed by Dutch regulator De Kansspelautoriteit on Betsson subsidiary Corona Ltd last week (see previous report) comes the news that MRG online casino subsidiary Mr Green Ltd has been issued with a Euro 310,000 fine for a similar alleged offence – failing to prevent Dutch online punters from accessing its unlicensed (in the Netherlands) gambling services, using IP blocking.

Like Betsson, MRG has already said that it will challenge the fine through the appeal process.

MRG says the Dutch online gambling market comprises just 6 percent of its overall revenue, contributing just $2.8 million in Q2-2018.
