French Euromillions site hacked

News on 29 Oct 2012

La Francaise des Jeux’s (FDJ) Euromillions.fr website was hacked this past weekend by a group calling themselves “Moroccanghosts“.

The homepage of the website was replaced by an excerpt in Arabic and French from the Koran which condemns gambling, calling “games of chance and alcohol the works of the devil intended to turn people away from God”, said a BBC report.

FDJ issued a statement confirming the attack on the website saying none of its other games or any data had been compromised.

The site was reported unavailable throughout Sunday and the Euromillions.fr website was still redirected to the FDJ.fr website as we went to press.
