Gauselmann eyes possible acquisition of Polish sports betting group.

Regulatory filings with Poland’s Office of Competition and Consumer Protection earlier this week have revealed that German gambling giant Gauselmann seeks to acquire Polish online sports betting enterprise Totolotek from its Greek owner Intralot.
The acquisition will be through XTiP Polska, a joint venture involving Gauselmann Group’s Merkur Sportwetten GmbH and Warsaw-based TMT Investments SA.
The XTiP brand is a well-established Gauselmann sports betting brand in Germany. Totolotek has been active in Poland for the past 25 years and was acquired by Intralot in 2005. It was among the first Polish betting sites to achieve online licensing (there are nowfourteen such companies).
