Malta-based online gaming firm Interwetten delivered an upbeat quarterly report, saying net profit had quadrupled in the first half of 2015.

The company attributed its strong performance to efficient marketing and customer relationship management, saying it was confident it would exceed its annual net profit target of Euro 10 million.

“The company’s comparative period included the Brazil World Cup making H1/2015 results even more impressive,” an Interwetten statement said.

Key performance highlights for its first half period ending June 30, 2015 include a 16 percent increase in revenue to Euro 25.7 million, and a 300 percent increase in net profit to exceed Euro 5 million.

Based on our strong performance in the first half of the year I am very confident that we will clearly out-perform our objectives for 2015: Euro 1 billion total turnover, Euro 50 million revenues and Euro 10 million net profit,” said Werner Becher, chief executive officer for Interwetten.

“Apart from celebrating our 25th anniversary, we will continue to work hard on accelerating Interwetten´s growth rate even further.”

Looking ahead, Interwetten plans to increase its TV presence in core markets during its H2/2015 and FY2016 periods across Eurosport, Sport1 and various Austrian TV channels.
