IOC meeting to dicuss crackdown on illegal betting

Just six months before the 2012 Olympics kick-off in London, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) will hold a meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland this week with various stake holders that include betting operators, Government officials, Interpol and sports leaders to finalise recommendations on defeating illegal sports betting.

Christophe De Kepper, director general of the IOC said: “We need Governments to wake up to the magnitude of the problem”, reports Associated Press.
