Las Vegas Sands Bethlehem fined again for admintting underage gamblers

Land casino baron Sheldon Adelson, who frequently justifies his fierce opposition to online gambling by claiming that that it does not adequately exclude the under-aged, may have been embarrassed by the news this week that for the fifth time in as many years his land casino in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania has been fined for admitted under-aged gamblers.

The punitive measure was invoked last month by the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board, which assessed a fine of $85,000 in connection with six incidents in which under-aged persons were allowed to drink and gamble on the premises.

The fines bring the total that Las Vegas Sands Bethlehem has had to fork out over the past five years for similar offences to $385,000, reports The Morning Call newspaper, but a Sands attorney dismissed the punishments by saying that humans are prone to mistakes…a reference to the measures deployed by the casino to exclude the under-aged.
