Nevada revenue growth slower in April

Nevada’s gambling revenue surges over three months running eased during April, but the US gambling hub continued to improve with overall revenues up 7.6 percent year-on-year.

Win from gamblers totalled $954 million in April, dropping below a billion dollars for the first time since January. However, analysts pointed out that for the fiscal year beginning last July, “gaming win” is up 2.9 percent.

The state government collected almost $53.4 million in fees based on revenues generated in April – up 20 percent year-on-year.

The Las Vegas Strip casinos saw winnings up almost 5.1 percent from April 2017, to $499.5 million – more than half the state-wide total. Downtown Las Vegas, North Las Vegas and Boulder Highway casinos reported double-digit increases, along with South Lake Tahoe.
