The Nevada Gaming Control Board had good news for the state gaming industry Tuesday, reporting that revenues rose 11.2 percent year-on-year during the month of October 2016.

Casino gaming revenue topped $887.5 million during the month, with the Las Vegas Strip doing particularly well – up 14 percent to $562.7 million.

On the games front slots turned in a creditable performance, with revenue rising 10.4 percent to $631.6 million, whilst blackjack soared 18 percent to $100.9 million, baccarat delivered $87.2 percent, an increase of 10.2 percent, and roulette soared into high double digit percentage figures with $30.3 million.

Sportsbooks returned revenue up 26 percent at $42.3 million, most of it coming from football betting.

Poker action (including online) during the month was again disappointingly flat, contributing just $8.7 million.
