Opposition mounting against stealth RAWA insert

Opposition is growing to a stealth attempt by Sen. Lindsey Graham to insert Restoration of the American Wire Act online gambling ban language into a must-pass omnibus budget bill in Congress (see previous reports).

The latest organisations to come out in opposition to the proposed ban, said to have originated with land casino owner Sheldon Adelson’s lobbyists, are the Institute for Liberty and the Competitive Enterprise Institute, which claim that the proposed legislation tramples on the right of individual US states to establish their own gambling laws, according to a report this week in the Washington DC newspaper Politico.
