PMU expands social network strategy

French-based betting operator Pari Mutuel Urbain (PMU) has expanded its social network presence with the launch of an official PMU account on leading Chinese social network WeChat.

The company’s reasoning behind the launch is to ensure it reaches potential French-situated Chinese bettors who primarily use WeChat as their social network.

WeChat is reported to have over 800 million active users per month with 260 million of those residing outside of China.
