Poland gets serious with online gambling blacklist

News on 29 Apr 2017

Following the implementation of its online gambling laws on April 1 this year, the Polish government has now firmed up its rather tentative black list of operators accessing its residents with gambling services.

The new additions to the black list, which include high profile firms like Marathonbet and Bet-at-Home, sets the scene for the government’s mid-year plans to require Polish ISPs to block offending online gambling sites.

Government has also said that it will seek to disrupt financial transactions between its citizens and unlicensed online gambling companies.

A number of online operators have already left the Polish market, citing totally unreasonable tax rates (see previous reports).
