Racing Riches Archive from Reel Sports

News on 4 Feb 2013

Casino and sportsbook games developer Reel Sports has launched a non-skill, fixed odds game titled Racing Riches Archive that allows players to wager on embedded video clips of historic sporting action.

Reel Sports has acquired the global rights from Pitch International for a range of sports and events, including classic FA Cup ties and England internationals, as well as vintage world championship boxing, to develop the sports roulette casino game across online, mobile and social platforms.

All clips appear within the game screen itself and Racing Riches Archive features commentary from well known sports presenter Jim Rosenthal.

The game comprises video clips that are each a few seconds long, with a single game on Racing Riches Archive lasting between 30-90 seconds.  Counters are allocated to six lanes before they advance closer towards the Racing Riches finishing line on the reoccurrence of randomly assigned incidents, such as a free kick or goal in football.

Participants place chips on the board to predict the finishing position of the counters. Play ends when the first counter crosses the finishing line, but fixed odds rewards are paid out on all squares with counters remaining, according to chip values, entitling players to profit from multiple winning positions at any one time.

Racing Riches Archive is an instantly available version of Reel Sports’ original Racing Riches online game, which plays in-running to live sporting action at operators including William Hill and BetVictor.

“Racing Riches Archive is totally unique. Until now, no company has been able to use archive sports footage in this way, where the outcome of the wager is solely determined by the video excerpts,” said Stuart Carr, managing director of Reel Sports.

“Thanks to this agreement with Pitch International, not only does it utilise some of the highest profile sporting action and athletes of all time, it is fast-paced and available to play anytime, anywhere, making it a hugely compelling offering to operators and their players.”

James Durie, sales and business development manager of Pitch International, said: “Pitch International is excited to enter this innovative rights agreement. Racing Riches Archive is a groundbreaking concept and we look forward to building on this relationship with Reel Sports in the future.”
