Betting for a free flight

News on 27 Dec 2012

The European budget airline Ryanair – notorious for charging “extras” on its cheap airfares – has come up with a new wrinkle to tempt passengers, reports the Herald Scotland.

The airline is offering GBP 3 lottery tickets to the punters among its passengers, with the prize a refund of the winner’s ticket price up to GBP 150. There will be 150 draws each year for the lucky player…and we mean “lucky”.

The newspaper points out that the airline carries 80 million passengers a year, and even if only a small proportion takes the gamble, the odds would be formidable.
