Satellite Information Services’ (SIS) chief executive officer, Gary Smith, has resigned his position after five years in the job to pursue other opportunities.

He will be succeeded by Richard Ames who re-joined the firm late last year as an interim product director.

Ames has been running his own interim management and consultancy services company for the past four years. He previously served as chief executive for model railway maker Hornby PLC, prior to which he was the managing director UK and Ireland Retail for Ladbrokes PLC while also a member of the PLC board.
