Slovenia sports betting bill nixed

Slovenian MP Branko Zorman’s proposed sports betting legislation has predictably been struck down by the country’s Upper Parliamentary chamber, which will no doubt be welcome news to existing sports betting monopoly Športna Loterija.

Further attempts at legalising sports betting would need to return to the National Assembly and gain a two-thirds majority vote to move forward.
