Social casino players are not as young as you think they are

News on 2 Nov 2016

Michael McCarthy, a social casino operator who has studied the practical demographics of social gaming, startled some delegates to the IAGR regulatory conference this week when he revealed that the average social slots player is almost 41 years of age.

During a panel discussion on the convergence of social gaming and gambling McCarthy said that it was not just millennials that liked social slots, and that the average age of a player in his study had been 40.9 years….and female.

McCarthy added that social slot action accounts for 38 percent of social casino revenue and around 80 percent of total social casino players.
