Internet social network site to add wagering on skill games

The Latino-focused social networking site Quepasa.com has partnered with Hollywood Creations, Inc. to develop skill-based wagering games for the fast-growing enterprise.
“Hollywood will integrate these new games into Quepasa’s Open Social Developer platform, building upon the success of our popular casual, role-playing and social-based games,” said John Abbott, CEO of Quepasa this week.
“We believe Quepasa will be the first social network to offer skill-based games through which users will have the ability to win cash and prizes. We expect these jointly developed games to further drive the engagement and monetization of Quepasa’s rapidly growing Latino user base, now totaling more than 19 million, as well as continue to differentiate our core offerings.”
According to Kevin Short, founder of Hollywood Creations, the new games will be designed with interactive features designed to engage a large cross-section of players.
Quepasa initially plans to roll out Hollywood Creations’ first two titles, Lyric and Pokerville, with more games in development. Pokerville connects and enables members to interact in virtual poker rooms, whilst Lyric is a music knowledge game, which progresses based on points gained for completing various lyrics.
“These games will complement the skill-based wagering games developed by Titan Gaming, which were announced in June and are currently being integrated into our site,” said Abbott.
