UK gambling industry statistics

The UK Gambling Commission has published its industry statistics for 2009/10.
In August the Commission announced it was changing the publication date for its annual statistics document from the summer to later in the year. This was to allow a change to fiscal year reporting (1 April to 31 March) for the data released from regulatory returns, so that direct comparisons could be made between all data sets, and to allow more time to ensure the accuracy of the published data.
The document includes facts and figures for 1 April 2009 to 31 March 2010 on activity in the arcade, betting, bingo, casino and lotteries sectors plus data on gaming machines and remote gambling (page 23).
It is based on regulatory returns completed by operators and comparative figures for the 2008/09 financial year are included.
