3D slot from Microgaming

News on 25 Jan 2011

The Isle of Man-based online gambling software provider Microgaming has developed its first true 3D online slot and will be showcasing it at ICEi this week.
The company claims their new offering is the first true 3D online slot, developed using specific 3D technology and based on the company’s popular 5 reel, 25 pay-line game Sterling Silver.
The head of casino operations at Microgmaing, Mike Hebden, revealed this week on the run-up to the London show:  “We have been working on 3D gaming content for some time and launched The Great Galaxy Grab online slot in 2009, which was developed using 3D rendered graphics. This time we will be launching a 3D slot which truly brings the world of online gaming to life, and we look forward to unveiling this to operators at ICE.”
In related news, GTechG2, the online gambling provider group that includes Boss Media, Dynamite Idea, Finsoft and St Minver, has announced that it will use the ICEi show to preview a major online casino software update.
The company plans to preview its comprehensive update that features a new slots-based adaptation of PopCap Games’ blockbuster game Plants vs. Zombies. This is the first new game to result from a recently signed licensing deal for various PopCap games, and includes familiar plant characters like ‘Peashooter’ and ‘Chomper’ symbols on the five-reel three pay line slot, turning these into Wilds with an exciting Bowling-for-Zombies Bonus Round for enhanced player interaction and entertainment.
“Based on our experience with other premier branded games, such as the Sherlock Holmes and Chippendales slot games, our licensees can expect very quick pick-up on this well known title,” said Dominic Mansour, VP Gaming Products. “Recognisable titles attract new players and keep existing players coming back for more.”
Mansour revealed that GTechG2 has a number of additional games in development which will be launched over the coming year using other recognised brands from PopCap.
Following the ICEi teaser, the new casino software package will be rolled out operationally in early spring 2011. The update will include Treasures of the Pyramids, which is a proven land-based slot machine from Atronic, and a top performing game in Las Vegas and in casinos around the world.
“This game is leading the way in linking the physical gaming environment to the internet world,” a company spokesman said this week. It will also include the new Blackjack PRO – the result of extensive input and feedback from a group of high value blackjack players. This is a new, richer version of Blackjack with improved play and autoplay using the players own game strategy. Extensive game statistics and advice on the best game strategy is also available to the player.
