Albania’s Economy Commission has approved legislation that will see the shut down of all private betting and gambling operations, both retail and online, from January 1, 2019.

Despite Prime Minister Edi Rama’s statement that all betting would be banned (see previous report), a caveat in the legislation reportedly allows gambling and betting to continue by Government-owned operations.
