ASA tackles 888 ad

Cassava Enterprises was censured by the UK Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) again, this time for the use of a comic-style format in an advert for its Spiderman game.

The company was challenged for its responsibility in the use of imagery that was likely to be of particular appeal to children.

Despite Cassava defending its position by saying the ad appeared on their website where there was a clear warning that only players that were aged 18 or over could play for real money, the ASA ruled that the advertisement breached social responsibility rules and as such instructed Cassava not to use images that would appeal to the younger generation in future gambling ads.
