Asian eSports audience will rise to almost 20 million by 2020

The Good Gaming company, which provides an eSports tournament and social network platform for Asian eSports fans, claimed this week that research numbers indicate that the Asia Pacific region will generate $27.5 billion (a quarter of global eSports revenues) by the end of this year, making the region the fastest growing eSports market in the world.

The company says that current estimates indicate Asian region CAGR (compound annual growth rate) at 36.1 percent, with an audience that will reach 10 million by the end of this year, and will rise to 19.8 million by 2020.

Reflecting the growth, Good Gaming reports a 400 percent increase in player signups over the past three months; its Asia Open Tournaments are most popular in South Korea, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines, with South Korea delivering approximately 34 percent of the total sign-ups over the period.
