Belatra, a leading developer of innovative online slots, has launched its latest crash game, PingWin Fly, in which a bat-swinging Yeti sends an intrepid penguin soaring across the Arctic sky.
Each round starts with the Yeti stepping up to swing his wooden bat, and the penguin is out of here, sailing out over the glaciers. The premise is simple. Once the penguin is airborne the multiplier climbs from zero towards a ceiling of 1000x, and every extra metre he covers boosts the return. It is not all plain sailing though. The Arctic is full of hazards that can drop the penguin out of the sky with no warning at all, so the whole game comes down to when you bail.
Players can choose from three bats, each offering a different volatility level and dialling the risk up or down. The Regular Bat is the cautious option, with the smallest chance of an early miss; the upgraded ones push the betting limits higher and tilt the odds towards bigger, rarer wins. The bats are unlocked by playing, either by clocking up a set number of rounds or hitting certain win milestones dotted along the map.
No two flights trace the same path. Springs, ice ramps and passing eagles all give the penguin a shove, sending him faster and higher and over whatever is in the way. Working against him are hot air balloons, stop signs, nets and the odd territorial fur seal, any of which can bring things to a halt. Not everything is what it seems, mind. Clip a water hole at the right angle and he will skim across it in an aquaplaning glide; come down on a seal’s back and he might just bounce off and carry on.
A map along the edge of the screen tracks the score in real time. Red flags show where past runs ended, green flags where players cashed out in one piece, and bat markers track how close the next piece of kit is. It is an easy read at a glance, and it never gets in the way of what is happening up in the air.
