Boyd Gaming claim first in launch of horse racing app for Nevada

News on 9 Aug 2016

Boyd Gaming, in partnership with software developer Miomni Gaming, are due to launch the B Connected Race & Sports mobile app, the first of its kind in the Nevada market to offer both sports and pari mutuel horse betting through a single application.

“We are thrilled to provide the first mobile sports wagering app in Nevada to include pari-mutuel horse betting,” Miomni Gaming chief executive officer Mike Venner commented. “Miomni’s technology will help introduce the sport of horse racing to an entire new generation of fans.”

The app allows punters situated in Nevada State, with a Boyd Gaming race account, daily wagering opportunities on horse races running at over a dozen of the biggest tracks in the U.S.

“This is a landmark moment for the industry, and for Boyd Gaming,” added Bob Scucci, Director of Race and Sports for Boyd Gaming’s Nevada region. “Our customers have embraced the convenience and excitement of wagering on sports events on their mobile devices. Today, we’re proud to be the first in Nevada to offer the same level of functionality and flexibility to horse bettors with the B Connected Sports & Race app.”

Miomni spent over a year developing and testing the application, creating a simple, intuitive user experience that enables users to place wagers, from simple Win / Place / Show bets to exotics such as exactas, trifectas and Daily Doubles, Boyd Gaming said. “Any bet that a patron can make at a track or sports book can now be made on a mobile device including boxes, keys and wheels”.

Future versions of the Race & Sports app will include video, enabling customers to watch live races and replays from within the app.

Our readers will recall Miomni Gaming recently partnered Station Casinos for the development and launch of its new mobile sports betting app STN Sport (see previous reports).
