UKGC publish new LCCP

News on 9 Aug 2016

The UK Gambling Commission published the latest version of the Licence Conditions and Codes of Practice (LCCP) Monday with changes primarily focused on the prevention of crime associated with gambling.

The new LCCP, which will come into effect October 31, 2016, is a licence condition all operators are expected to adopt.

The most recent and future amendments to the LCCP include the prevention of crime associated with gambling; placing digital adverts responsibly; extending the requirement to assess and manage money laundering risk to non-remote lotteries; and, controlling where gaming machines may be played in betting, bingo and casino premises.

“A key focus of this review has been the anti-money laundering provisions within LCCP and we have introduced a new consolidated principal anti-money laundering requirement as the most significant change,” a press statement from the UKGC outlined. “This will require licensees to assess and manage the risks of their business being used for money laundering and terrorist financing”.
