Caesars Entertainment subsidiary Harrahs Casino has perked up the New Jersey gambling market with what it claims is the first collaborative promotion between its online and offline operations.

The Treasure Hunt promo allows punters to participate in a digital Treasure Hunt online with weekly challenges for a chance to win more than $40,000 in cash and prizes.

Players completing all weekly challenges this month will receive a spot in an October 18 live treasure hunt event at Harrah’s Resort in Atlantic City.

Adrian Bailey, vice president of integrated marketing for HarrahsCasino.com, said Friday: “This innovative campaign bridges the digital and physical worlds and will create a consumer experience the industry has not yet seen.”

Asked about Caesars’ intentions following the announcement by New Jersey’s state government this week that it will not take action against companies offering sports betting, a Caesars spokesperson took a cautious line, saying that at present there are no plans to accept sports bets at either Harrah’s or Caesars land casinos in the state.
