CIRSA pleased with second quarter results

Barcelona-based gaming and leisure company CIRSA delivered encouraging results this week reporting its twenty-sixth consecutive quarter of growth.

Key Performance Indicators included:

–     H1 operating profits of Euro 157.9 million, up 12 percent on H1 2011.

–     Operating income of Euro 897.6 million, up 4.7 percent over last year.

–     H2 earnings reached Euro 449.9 million, 7.3 percent more than the same period in 2011.

–     Operating profit of Euro 80.6 Million, an increase of 12.7 percent over Q2:2011 and its highest ever recorded in a single quarter.

Sportium, the firm’s live betting market has consolidated its leading position in Madrid and Aragon and boasts market shares in excess of 55 percent of all business.

Cirsa said the recent Spanish online launch of Cirsa.es achieved business targets despite the current economic downturn in Spain.

Joaquim Agut, Cirsa’s chief executive officer commenting on the results said: “The efficient execution of operational plans by the entire team at Cirsa has reaffirmed that the strategy of geographic and business diversification is still providing the results we expected, even in an environment as complex as the one we have now”.
