Daily Mirror chooses Virtue Fusion for online bingo offering

Playtech plc subsidiary Virtue Fusion has replaced 888 Holding’s Dragonfish as the online bingo platform for the Daily Mirror and Daily Record brands in the Trinity Mirror group stable.

A spokesman for Virtue Fusion said that the new bingo network would include access to Playtech online and mobile casino games.

Mark O’Donnell, a spokesman for Trinity Mirror, said that his company sees a significant opportunity to grow its online and mobile gambling revenues, leveraging its player base, brands and content.

Virtue Fusion chief operating officer Daniel Phillips said that the Trinity Mirror companies were market leaders, and that players would be provided with a quality gaming experience around the clock and via all delivery channels.

The Trinity Mirror media stable includes the Daily Mirror, the Daily Record, the Sunday Mirror, the People and the Sunday Mail, along with regional newspapers like the Liverpool Echo, the Manchester Evening News, the Newcastle Chronicle and the Western Mail.

In its corporate reportage Trinity commented most recently that its digital revenues, including online bingo, had slipped.

It is not known if Cashcade, which marketed the previous Dragonfish-powered product, is affected by the switch.
