Dutch regulator shows its teeth

News on 7 Feb 2014

After fighting a fine imposed late last year for operating in the Netherlands without a licence, the Mansion group and Onisac Limited have failed to secure a continuing injunction and will have to pay fines totaling Euro 150,000.

After the Dutch regulator Kansspelautoriteit imposed the fines, the companies sought an injunction whilst they launched litigation seeking relief and claiming that the Dutch law was in conflict with EU principles.

That injunction ran out earlier this (February) month and the fine must now be paid, although the two companies retain the right of appeal.

MansionPoker is an online poker room on Playtech‘s iPoker network, and has a number of other online gambling brands, including Casino.com.

Gibraltar-licensed Onisac uses Playtech software in its three online csino operations, Club777, Slots Heaven and LesAcasino.
