Former bwin.party exec appointed CEO of Tipico

German online sports betting firm Tipico Limited has announced the appointment of Joachim Baca (45) as its new Chief Executive Officer with effect from July 18 this year.
Baca, who replaces the departing Jan Bolz, was formerly chief operating officer at Bwin.Party Digital Entertainment in Gibraltar, which was recently merged with the GVC online gambling group (see previous reports).
A thirteen year veteran at Bwin Interactive and Bwin.Party, Baca has also held management posts with Red Bull GmbH and Marchfifteen GmbH. He holds a degree in economics and business from the University of Vienna.
Tipico is soon to be owned by the private equity company CVC Capital Partners, which agreed to buy a majority share earlier this year (see previous reports). The deal is currently awaiting approval by various authorities.
