Kenya judiciary throws tax challenge out of court

News on 12 Apr 2017

Kenyan Justice Roselyne Aburili has thrown out Bradley Limited’s urgent legal complaint concerning the proposed 50 percent tax on betting because the text font on the applicants submission was “too small to read”.

“I direct the applicant to file reader friendly pleadings for consideration of the court,” Aburili said.

Industry observers surmise the move is most likely a delaying tactic rather than an inability to read the text giving the Kenyan Government time to redress the situation in upcoming discussions.
