Ladbrokes launch internal investigation into data protection failing

News on 1 Jul 2017

A Ladbrokes retail shop’s data protection compliance procedures are in question after a self-excluded customer’s information was found in a bin bag outside a retail shop in Central Glasgow.

The information reportedly included sensitive personal data along with photographs of the customer, but excluded bank details and betting history.

Ladbrokes has initiated its own internal investigation saying the issue does not reflect company data protection procedures across its properties.

“We are taking this extremely seriously and are undertaking a full investigation,” Ladbrokes said in a statement.
