Malaysian police destroy over 12,000 confiscated gambling computer

Malaysian police in the Selangor district this week crushed and destroyed a total of 12,346 computers confiscated in 2,236 anti-online gambling raids conducted over the past two years in Operation Dadu.

Selangor Criminal Investigations Department chief Senior Assistant Commissioner Fadzil Ahmat said: “During this period, we have also arrested 1,493 people. The seized items were destroyed today as the cases have been finalised in the courts.”

Fadzil said from January 2016 to May this year, a total of 9,101 raids have been conducted by the Selangor police and 99,079 items seized along with cash amounting to RM923,694. He said police will continue to carry out operations in a bid to eradicate illegal gambling activities in the district.
