Marathonbet exits Czech Republic as new online gambling regulatory regime begins

The Czech Republic’s new regulatory regime kicked in on January 1 this year, and rather than face tough enforcement and draconian punishments (along with high taxation) Marathonbet has announced its withdrawal from the market.

The online gambling operator is making an orderly departure, but is not the first to pull out of the Czech market – William Hill plc packed up and left just before Christmas (see previous reports).
