New chief financial officer appointed at Sportech plc

Online gambling group Sportech plc has announced the promotion of Mickey Kalifa (48) as group Chief Financial Officer with effect from January 4 next year, when he will commence the takeover process in collaboration with incumbent Cliff Baty before taking up the reins on March 3 2016.

Kalifa has served as corporate development director of Sportech for the last six year, playing a key role in the acquisition and subsequent development of the company’s activities in North America.

Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Coopers & Lybrand (now PwC), he has extensive experience in finance and executive director roles, in the UK and US, with some of the world’s largest media and technology companies, including Young & Rubicam, Disney, Time Warner, BSkyB and Liberty Media.

His appointment has been made following the completion of an appropriate search process.
