Draftstars, a new online daily fantasy sports operator jointly owned by Aussie online bookmaker CrownBet and sports media giant Fox Sports, initiated a multi-channel advertising and promotional push in Australia this week following its formal launch powered by DraftDay software earlier this year (see previous reports).

The company has established partnership links with the Australian Football League, and is offering competitions involving AFL and National Basketball Association action.

The marketing drive this week is designed to create brand and product awareness, educate local punters on DFS and build a strong Australian player base, a company spokesman said.

Draftstars is licensed for operations in the Northern Territory province of Australia under sports betting regulations.
