Loto-Quebec, the provincial government-owned gambling monopoly in Canada’s Quebec province, has posted its fiscal nine-month results to end December 2016, showcasing a strong performance from the online operations at Espacejeux.

Whilst overall group revenues in the period fell 1.5 percent to Cdn 2.61 billion, with profits down 1.3 percent to Cdn$ 933 million, the online casino enterprise recorded revenue up 26.4 percent y-o-y at Cdn$ 58.3 million; the online lottery division listed sales up 30 percent at Cdn$ 26.8 million; and other online gambling activities brought in Cdn$ 31.5 million – up 23.5 percent.

In the offline activities of the group, lottery sales continued to be the big earner, and although sales were down almost 5 percent year-on-year the vertical still delivered most of Loto-Quebec’s revenues at Cdn$ 1.27 billion.

The group’s four land casinos collectively generated Cdn$ 619 million (up 2.8 percent) in GGR.
