Ohio senate to consider new eSports and DFS bill

A Republican Senator in Ohio, Bill Coley, has introduced Senate Bill 356 for consideration initially by a Senate committee.

Little in the way of detail is known about the measure, other than it seeks to tighten the regulation of betting pools, eSports and daily fantasy sports, and proposes that oversight responsibilities will be the task of the state Casino Control Commission, according to local media reports.

Sen. Coley told reporters that the legislation is needed to ensure that online daily fantasy sports and eSports move forward and are appropriately monitored and controlled.
