Online gambling firm owner among world's top woman billionaires

Online gambling entrepreneur Denise Coates placed second with a fortune of $3 billion on a list of 5 women billionaires which Forbes magazine stripped out of the world’s 100 richest people this week.

Along with her family, Denise Coates owns the bet365 group she founded as a start-up, which grew its profits by $900 million last year.

The most successful of the women was Zhou Qunfei, who is now worth around $6.3 billion but started as a humble glass factory worker in rural China. She founded Lens Technology, a major manufacturer of smartphone touch-screens.

The five women are collectively worth $18.1 billion.
