Online gambling regulation in Peru soon?

News on 29 Jun 2017

The Peruvian gambling regulator, Manuel San Román Benavente has reportedly confirmed that new legislation legalising and regulating online gambling in Peru has been drafted, and that publication is imminent.

It is understood that the draft bill proposes the legalisation, licensing and regulation of most forms of online gambling, although internet casino cafe-style gambling will be specifically excluded.

Benavente revealed that the draft is currently being considered by the national Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism, which is reponsible for gambling matters in the South American country.
