Openbet to supply software to betting shops

Openbet Technologies, the UK-based online gambling and sportsbook content provider, has inked a significant multi-year deal with William Hill plc that will see it supplying high street betting shops with its Promote retail betting content display software.

David Loveday, chief executive of Openbet, says the license includes the provision of a dedicated support programme and will enable William Hill to offer betting promotions tailored specifically to each retail shop in order to appeal to customer type and preferred events throughout the sporting calendar.

“We have been cognisant for some time that the retail punter’s demands and habits have been changing,” said Loveday. “We have designed Promote to give our customers a platform from which they can greatly improve the range of products and the level of service they provide.

“The high street bookmaker is no longer seen as just a betting shop but a destination that offers a wider range of entertainment. Operators need the tools available to them to deliver that experience and that is what Promote does.”

OpenBet claims that Promote is entirely compatible with most hardware presently in UK betting shops, supports up to 255 separate displays and can be flexibly mapped across 40 physical high definition screens without restrictions on screen location, layout or style.

The system supports all of William Hill’s current Albos and Epos systems across its entire estate.

James Henderson, UK and International retail director for William Hill, said: “We have to keep adapting and innovating to meet changing customer demands. Promote gives us the opportunity to keep making the offer more interesting for customers by targeting promotions and content more effectively and tailoring offers at a local level.”
