The USA TODAY Sports Media Group (UTS) and digital sports media company, PERFORM have entered into a partnership that will deliver a host of American professional and collegiate sports to over 100 of Gannett’s local media organisations and the owned and operated sites within UTS’ digital properties through the use of PERFORM’s ePlayer sports video on demand (VOD) broadcast platform.

“This partnership allows us to continue to deliver on our mission to provide sports fans throughout the U.S. with the best content in the world, regardless of format,” said Tom Beusse, president of the UTS Media Group. “PERFORM has revolutionized the way sports video is delivered across digital platforms, and this partnership aligns perfectly with our mission.”

Forming part of the agreement, both companies are committed to producing new and original collegiate sports programming for distribution across UTS organisations. UTS will additionally develop a branded channel within ePlayer which will allow it to stream the sports video content it is currently producing.

According to comScore’s August Video Metrix Report, PERFORM is the second largest sports video network, ahead of Yahoo but trailing ESPN.
